SAUNTER WITH PYROMANS
The project is called 'Saunter With Pyromans', which is a 9-12 piece band that started last year with the goal of finding new ways to approach the music. The founder of this ensemble is Kornelijus Pukinskis, saxophone player, from Lithuania, who had the dream to connect his countries musical approaches in a new place. He had a vision to create an ensemble which could reflect players’ spirituality and their own inner philosophy. Therefore he brought together young and powerful musicians from Scotland, resulting in a unique musical phenomenon.

The idea of this project is to create a new form of music which would combine two seemingly unrelated music forms – free jazz and academically styled original compositions, which could be acceptable for the wider audiences, not just for academic people, in that way introducing society to a more sophisticated form of music, strictly written and organized but free in its spirit and improvisations.
